Winters are creeping in and it’s time for some comfort food. Today, lets make Brown Rice Pongal, a South Indian version of Dal Khichdi, using Brown Rice. Brown rice is rich in fibre and minerals. Usually brown rice takes a lot of time to cook, but the rice I use cooks in just 15 minutes. It is a genuine brown rice with full bran intact and turns out soft and tasty. Yellow moong dal on the other hand is rich in potassium, calcium, folate and vitamin B complex, which helps your body break down carbohydrates into glucose, to produce usable fuel!
Basically, Moong dal and brown rice is a great combination of protein and fibre, making it a wholesome meal. #TastyThursday #SwasthRahoMastRaho
